The Eldership of King’s Reformed Presbyterian Church would like to give the following explanation regarding our practice of participation at the Lord’s Supper.
According to the Scripture, we believe it is required of us as Elders to “guard” the Table. We do recognize that this is the Lord’s Table and not just ours as local church. However, it is our duty to do what we can do, to warn participants and to insure that those who partake do belong to Jesus Christ – this is shown in that they are communicant members in good standing of a Bible-believing, and a Bible-practicing, Church.
If we have not been able to receive your request for participation (see below) and to talk to you about this, we will not be offering you the Lord’s Supper. However, this does not mean we see you as an unbeliever. It merely means that we would like to welcome you to partake by first hearing from you and being assured, as much as possible, that we are of one faith and one Spirit.
If you will be visiting our Church and would like to participate in the Lord’s Supper with us, we have a simple declaration form (available on the back table or you can print it at home – download it here). Please fill it out and hand it to one of the elders or deacons before the service, so that we can welcome you to participate. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
